The recent engagement of my former track teammate Ken and his beloved, Zhaina, was momentous not only to their lives, but to mine. Without making this too much about me, I swear I won't, this shoot proved to be a stepping stone into finding out what I really wanted in life. Talking to this couple and learning about them was an incredibly refreshing experience to have. Ken's patience for Zhaina during the times when they were "just friends" was parallel to that of a Hollywood movie. No, better yet a Taylor Swift song. The one with her being jealous over another girl, which one was that? You Belong With Me? Yeah, that. Except Ken, according to him, was not jealous and covetous, just friendly. Perhaps too friendly? As fairytale-like and happy it sounds, their story is true and I could not have been more happy to be a minor part of it. This shoot helped them announce to everyone about their intentions on marriage, and it made me think twice about not taking photography seriously. It made me think it about photography seriously.
